Doug Lee running for fifth term as mayor of Lucedale (candidate list)
LUCEDALE, Mississippi -- Doug Lee is running for his fifth term as Lucedale's mayor, but if he wins against a Republican challenger, it will be the first time he's been in office for consecutive terms.Lee has served as the city's mayor in 1980-84, 1989-93 and 1997-2001 and now 2009 to the present.
He will face the winner of the Republican primary race between Neal Henry, John Bowie and Charles Edmond Havard.
Municipal party primaries will be held May 7, followed by runoffs on May 21 if needed. The general election is June 4, and those elected will begin their terms July 1.
