Football: Gautier's Daniel Quave, Lucedale's Will Scott named second-team All-Sun Belt

Two players with local ties were honored by the Sun Belt Conference on Thursday.
Louisiana-Lafayette offensive guard Daniel Quave, a Gautier native, was named second-team All-Sun Belt by league coaches. Quave, a junior, has started all 38 games of his college career for the Ragin' Cajuns, who meet Tulane in the New Orleans Bowl on Dec. 21.
Troy senior Will Scott made the All-Sun Belt second team as both kicker and punter. The Lucedale native and former George County High School and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College standout connected on 11 of 15 field goals (with a long of 53) and 49 of 51 extra points while also averaging 44.5 yards per punt for the Trojans in 2013.
